Twitter: Dr. Caitríona Lally received her BEng (Mechanical Engineering) and MEng (Biomedical Engineering) degrees from University of Limerick and later obtained a PhD from Trinity College Dublin in the area of arterial biomechanics and cardiovascular stenting. In March 2004 she took up a lecturing position in the School of Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering at Dublin City University, and was appointed senior lecturer in 2014. In 2015, she joined the Department of Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering in Trinity College Dublin as a Professor in Bioengineering where she continues to carry out research focused on arterial tissue mechanics, vascular imaging, vascular mechanobiology and tissue engineering. She has secured considerable research funding from SFI, Enterprise Ireland and the IRC and was awarded an ERC starting grant in 2014.
