TSM Course Combinations, CAO Codes and CAO Points

TSM Pattern Combinations

TSM has 25 diverse subjects, 172 combinations, and two main patterns.  The TSM Pattern Combinations grid shows all possible subject combinations. TSM is a joint honors arts degree that allows students to study two arts subjects to degree level. The two subjects are taught separately. It is a four year full-time degree course.

TSM Course Codes

Please see the TCD Undergraduate Prospectus for a list of all TSM Course Codes. TR001 must NOT be entered on the CAO Application Form. Each possible combination of two subjects has a unique three-digit number. The letters 'TR' followed by the three-digit number of your chosen TSM combination should be entered on the CAO application form e.g. French and German TR289. The absence of a code in a grid position indicates that the corresponding combination of subjects is not permitted.

CAO Points

Each subject within TSM has its own entry points. Within a permitted combination you must have the points required for the higher of the two subjects. For example, if subject one requires 480 and subject two requires 530, you must have 530 points for that combination. The TSM (TR001) 2016 Final Minimum Entry Levels Table (on the last page of the TSM Open Day booklet) shows the points required for each permitted combination for 2016.

TSM Course Requirements

In addition to Leaving Certificate points there are other Admission requirements for each TSM subject. Please see the Study at Trinity website for a list of all these specific subject Admission Requirements.
