Sexual Assault Treatment Unit
You can attend the Sexual Assault Treatment (SATU) unit in the Rotunda by calling 01 817 1736 weekdays from 8am to 5pm, or 01 817 1700 after 5pm and weekends. Ask for the SATU.
If you have been raped or sexually assaulted, you should go to a Sexual Assault Treatment Unit as soon as possible after the incident. This service is free, confidential and open to everyone. They are here to help you if you’ve been raped or sexually assaulted. They are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
A Sexual Assault Treatment Unit (SATU) is a safe place to go if you have been raped or sexually assaulted. They help anyone who has had unwanted sexual contact of any kind. They can also help if you cannot remember what happened but think you may have been sexually assaulted.hey look after all genders and gender identities, aged 14 years and over. You can bring a friend or family member with you if you wish.
All SATU care is free.
If you want the rape or sexual assault to be investigated, you should get a forensic exam as soon as possible. This is because DNA evidence deteriorates (breaks down) quickly. They will offer you medication to prevent sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and pregnancy. This medication works better when taken as soon as possible also.
Rape Crisis Centre
Rape crisis centres aim to to offer help and support to anyone who has experienced sexual violence of any kind. This may have been recently, some years ago or in childhood.
They take calls from people of all ages, creeds, ethnic groups and orientations. Their counsellors will also speak with friends, relatives and concerned persons as well as take general queries.

Women's Aid Domestic Abuse Support
The Women's Aid 24hr National Freephone Helpline offers confidential information, support and understanding to women in the Republic of Ireland, who are being abused by current or former boyfriends, partners or husbands. If you, or someone you know, is afraid of someone who is close to you, you can call them on 1800 341 900, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The Crime Victim’s Helpline is a national confidential support for victims of crime in Ireland. They can answer your questions about the criminal justice system, provide information about your rights and guide you to local or specialist victim support services.

LGBT Helpline
LGBT Ireland is a national support service for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender people and their families and friends. Non-judgmental, confidential listening and support, is provided seven days a week through the telephone helpline 1800 929 539 and through their online instant messaging service available on their website.

MyOptions Crisis Pregnancy Support
My Options is a Health Service freephone line that provides free and confidential information and counselling to people experiencing an unplanned pregnancy. Unplanned pregnancy counselling can support you to cope with your unplanned pregnancy. It can help to talk to someone who can help support you to find the answers to your questions. They will be able to provide you with information on how to access an abortion service should you need one. This service is free and confidential, and open to anyone.
