Published: January 15th, 2020

Trinity Hurlers are looking to bounce back with a win in the next stages of the Fitzgibbon Cup as they take on University of Limerick on Sunday, 19th January from 2pm at UL Sports Grounds. Trinity’s hurlers fell to a heart breaking 0-16 to 0-15 defeat in their first Fitzgibbon Cup tie against Maynooth however Trinity can hold their heads high after showing incredible grit to bring the game back level after Maynooth took an eight point lead in the first half.
Trinity GAA Development Officer, Conor Laverty commented: “The hurlers have been fantastic, coming from division two, now competing in the Fitzgibbon Cup, they were very unlucky in the first round not to get their first win in a number of years, but they really have blossomed, and that win is on the horizon. The Fitzgibbon is a fantastic competition and this group of lads has earned the right to be competing against the top hurlers in the country.”
Trinity’s hurlers play University of Limerick in the second round of the Fitzgibbon Cup this Sunday, 19th January at UL Sports Grounds from 2pm. Their third group game is against Dublin City University taking place on Wednesday, 22nd January at Santry Sports Grounds. Throw in is at 7pm – come out and support Trinity’s hurlers.
