National Rowing Championship 2019
Published: July 12th, 2019
More than 2,000 athletes representing over 60 clubs will travel to the National Rowing Centre in Farran Wood, Cork this weekend for the highlight of the Rowing Ireland domestic calendar. From Friday, 12th July until Sunday, 14th July athletes will compete after a long and gruelling season of training, to come away with as many Championship trophies as possible.
Our own athletes have been working hard all season under the guidance of head coaches Richard Ruggeri and Andrew Colman. The men’s team’s last test of speed was the rescheduled University Championships, where the men came away with wins in the Intermediate and Club 8, they came second behind UCD in the Senior 8.
The ladies last race had them across the Irish sea, at the London Metropolitan Regatta. They raced hard and placed first in the Tier 2 Women’s 8 for the third consecutive year, and 3rd overall in the Championship 8.
Best of luck to all our athletes competing at the National Rowing Championships this weekend. Follow the teams on Instagram and Facebook for up to date results throughout the weekend! More information about the event can be found on the Rowing Ireland website here.
