Trinity Student Selected for U23 Europeans Team by Irish Athletics

Kate Doherty, a 4th year Biomedical Engineering Trinity student has been selected to represent Athletics Ireland for the European U-23 championships which will take place in Gavle, Sweden from the 11th – 14th July 2019. Kate will compete in the women’s 100m hurdle and the 4 x 100m relay at the European U-23 championships.
Kate Doherty’s inclusion in the team follows an impressive form including finishing 1st in the 100m hurdles (14.10) in the Irish University Outdoor track and field championships back in April. Kate also went on to win her first national senior title for the 60m hurdle, in a time of 8.29 at the National Senior Indoor Championships, ranking her third all time in Ireland.

Kate Doherty’s 100m hurdles first round of competition will kick off at 16:20 on Thursday, 11th July while she will compete in the 4 x 100m relay at 11:00 on Sunday, 14th July at the European U-23 Championship in Galve, Sweden.
