Junior Sports Leadership Course

Trinity Sport is proud to present the Junior Sports Leader Programme 2019 course for young people aged 16-18 years. Do you know someone who is driven and wishes to broaden their knowledge of sport and coaching? If so we at Trinity Sport will provide the expertise and training to help develop their skills in leadership, coaching and sports development. For the first to time, we will provide certification in key areas such as water safety, first aid and coaching, which is then supplemented with key note speeches and Q&A sessions with Trinity athletes past and present, high performance officers and the staff of the Trinity Sport development team.

Much as we at Trinity Sport hope that we can provide the foundation to inspire a new generation to fulfill their potential, both in and out of sport, we also hope that our Junior Leaders can inspire children on our camp through their initiative and support. As such, the skills learned on the course will then be put into play in a practical environment, working with our highly trained and experienced staff on the Braveheart Summer Sports Camp. This provides the Junior Leader with the opportunity to plan and run a session, assist in the management and coordination of a group as well as develop key interpersonal skills between other junior leaders, the coaches and the management team.

The three phases to the Programme: Phase 1 - A one week module in coaching and leadership skills which will provide you with a Trinity Sport approved qualification certificate for future work.

Phase 2 - Undertaking 2 weeks voluntary coaching and leadership on our children's sports camps this summer

Phase 3 - Completion of a log book of coaching hours performed during phase 2.

This course is an excellent learning opportunity, while also providing practical coaching experience. It is open to family members of students and staff, as well as members of the public.

All applicants should have an interest in sport and fitness and a link to the application form. the closing date for applications is Friday 17th May 5pm.
