Political Science and Geography

Students begin to specialise, selecting from an increased number of diverse and specialised modules. In third year, many students have the opportunity to study political science and geography at distinguished universities around the world.

Junior Sophister - Programme Requirements

Students must take modules to the value of 60 ECTs credits - 30 political science credits and 30 geography credits.

  • POU333011 & POU33012 are mandatory for students intending to take only Political Science modules in the Senior Sophister year.
  • GGU33928 is mandatory for students intending to take only Geography in the Senior Sophister year, in preparation for the Physical or Human Dissertation.
  • GGU33934 is recommended for students intending to take only Geography in the Senior Sophister year, in preparation for the Physical Dissertation.
  • Students intending to take only Geography or only Political Science in the Senior Sophister year are required to submit a dissertation at the end of the Senior Sophister year. Both the topic and approach of the dissertation should reflect the interdisciplinary nature of the degree and must be devised, and submitted, in the Junior Sophister year.
