Four centuries of political cartoons go on display in Trinity Library exhibition
An exhibition has opened at the Trinity College Dublin Library this week: "Drawing your attention: Four Centuries of Political Caricature". The exhibition highlights six main political themes - Trade Relations. Gender Disparity, Political Reform, International Alliances, Politics and Law, and Political Treachery.
Panel Discussion on "Patriotic Education in a Global Age"
Join Randall Curren, Professor of Philosophy and Education at the University of Rochester, for a panel discussion of his book Patriotic Education in a Global Age (co-authored with Charles Dorn, University of Chicago Press). 2018 Grattan Scholarships awarded to postgraduate students in Political Science and Sociology
School of Social Sciences and Philosophy´s prestigious scholarship has been awarded to Miceal Canavan (Political Science) and Stefanie Sprong (Sociology). They join Scholars from 12 countries around the world who are committed to understanding and improving society through their research and teaching.

Department welcomes new Assistant Professor, Roman- Gabriel Olar
Dr Olar joins Trinity from the University of Essex. He has a developing research agenda on the politics of authoritarian regimes, state repression, civil military relations and democratization.

New appointment in Political Science
The Department welcomes Dr Lisa Keenan to the staff as a Teaching Fellow. Dr Keenan, who researches predominantly on women in politics, was awarded a prestigious Grattan Scholarship by Trinity for her PhD studies.

Alumni to Student Mentoring Programme launch events
Trinity political science graduates and penultimate/final year students were invited to mentoring events between 25-27 Sept, 2018. It was an excellent opportunity for students to connect with alumni working in a range of sectors.
