Bertrand Russell Society Book Award for Dr Peter StoneDr Peter Stone has been awarded the 2017 Bertrand Russell Society Book Award for the book 'Bertrand Russell: Public Intellectual' (Tiger Bark Press, 2016), co-edited with Dr Tim Madigan. The award is given annually for the best book in the field of Russell studies published in the preceding year.

Political Scientist Elected Fellow of TCDProfessor Raj Chari has been elected a Fellow of Trinity College Dublin (FTCD) in recognition of his scholarship and research achievements and his contribution to College and to the School.

2017 Trinity ScholarThe Department congratulates Daniela Weerasinghe (Law and Political Science) on her election as a Scholar on 10 April 2017. She will also be the recipient of the Ronald J Hill prize awarded annually for performance in Schol in honour of Professor Ron Hill, a distinguished member of the department from 1969 to 2007.

Launch of Michael Marsh bookOn 28 March the book A Conservative Revolution? (Oxford University Press) was launched in the RIA by the Minister for PER, Paschal Donohoe, one of the Department's distinguished alumni. The book analyses INES data and is a tribute to Prof Marsh's outstanding contribution to electoral analysis.

PSAI prize for Dr Will PhelanAt the annual conference of the PSAI in Belfast on 8 October, the Brian Farrell prize for the best book published in 2015 was awarded to Dr Will Phelan for his book In Place of Inter-State Retaliation (Oxford University Press, 2015).
