After graduating with honours at the University of Milan in 2014, Giacomo started a PhD under the supervision of Prof. Bassano Vacchini. During the three years of his doctoral studies, he specialised in Open Quantum Systems dynamics, non-Markovian effects and Quantum Thermodynamics. He successfully defended his PhD thesis in January 2017 and moved as a researcher at Palacky University of Olomouc (Czech Republic), under the guidance of Prof. Radim Filip. During this working experience he developed his previous expertise in combination with the study of quantum coherences. Since the 1st of July he joined the QuSys team as a Research Fellow at Trinity College Dublin. In addition to physics Giacomo also has a Master degree in piano obtained at the Conservatory of Music G. Nicolini of Piacenza.
