Our Research

Polymeric Materials and NanoComposites (PMNC) Group, led by Dr. Ramesh Babu and affiliated to School of Physics and CRANN at the Trinity College, Dublin.

PMNC is primarily engaged in applied research. The mission is to provide world class research in polymer nanocomposites, to act as an intellectual powerhouse and a catalyst for the development of a smart, globally competitive polymer industry sector in Ireland and Europe.

The overarching performance target is to provide the R&D capability that will allow companies to become involved in the use of the most advanced polymeric materials and tools to create smart products and technology to compete effectively in all markets. PMNC Group undertakes a variety of research and development activities including analysis, formulation, characterisation, manufacturing, testing, applications and technology transfer of thermoplastics, elastomers, adhesives, bio-based polymers, conducting polymers, polymeric composites and nanocomposites.
