I studied Physics in TCD and received my undergraduate degree in 2019.
I joined the APRG as a postgraduate student in September 2019, working under the Irish Research Council’s Advanced Laureate Award. The focus of this work is to develop a new architecture for superconducting tunneling junctions. The superconducting material I am working with now is Niobium thin films.
This research involves regular use of ultra-high vacuum equipment, electron beam deposition, X-ray diffraction, X-ray reflectivity and atomic force microscopy.
