School of Physics spin-out Electrical Analytics have been featured in this year’s Sunday Business Post list of 100 Hot Start-ups

26 Feb 2019

The list, in its fifth year, serves as an overview of the vibrant start-up scene in Ireland, and Electrical Analytics are joined by other Trinity-affiliated spin-outs such as CroíValve, Danalto, and Inflazome.

Trinity College Dublin spinout Electrical Analytics maps the energy consumption within large campus settings using AI and data analytics together with its custom monitoring hardware. Initially funded by Enterprise Ireland’s Commercialisation Fund, it has just been awarded a research, development and demonstration (RD&D) grant from the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) to help develop its system and reduce energy use. It is currently deploying its monitoring system across TCD’s local power grid, which serves TCD’s 25,000 staff and students, as well as the 1,000,000 visitors to the campus each year. Building on the major trial is TCD, Electrical Analytics is looking for more large energy users in the industrial, healthcare and educational sectors across Ireland to roll out its systems, as well as pitching the monitoring system and custom sensors to major utilities in Britain and Europe.
