Single Honors Philosophy (TR005)
What is Single Honors Philosophy?
Single Honors Philosophy, formerly known as Mental and Moral Science, is an intensive four year honors degree programme in philosophy.
In the first two years, students study foundation courses in the history of philosophy, as well as engaging with certain fundamental philosophical problems such as the debates about free will, the nature of morality, the existence of God, logic, and the scope and limits of human knowledge.
In the final two years, students can set their own syllabus by selecting from a range of courses such as political philosophy, ethics and philosophy of mind. This enables students to specialise in the areas they have found most interesting and most suited to their skills.
- Junior Fresher year - students take 16 course components
- Senior Fresher year- students take 13 course components
- In the Junior Sophister year - students select 6 modules
- In the Senior Sophister year - students select 6 modules, write a thesis and sit the three hour General Paper
