Visiting Professors and Scholars, School of Law, Trinity College Dublin

Visiting Professors and Scholars Application Process

The School welcomes applications from legal academics wishing to spend research time in Trinity College Dublin.
Visitors may come to the School for periods of up to one year. Visitors are encouraged to participate fully in the activities of the School and to attend the public lectures and seminars organised by the School and elsewhere in the University.
Whilst Library facilities are made available to Visitors, we are not in a position to offer access to office space to all Visitors. Applications from Visitors can be made at any time during the year. Decisions on applications are taken by the School of Law Research Committee, which meets several times annually.

Due to the large number of applications, unfortunately we are unable to accommodate all those who express an interest in visiting for research purposes. In selecting applicants for Visitor status, the Research Committee considers: the applicant's background; field of interest; scholarly achievement; research proposal; and congruence with research interests of staff within the School.

Research policy and application procedure

Applications addressing these criteria should be sent to: law.school at tcd.ie
Please indicate in the subject line of your email that it is an application to be a research visitor.
Please note that the Visiting Scholar scheme does not extend to postgraduate researchers. Those postgraduates seeking to use the library resources of Trinity College Dublin are advised to contact the Library directly to seek admission as a visitor.
