George Sevastopulo Paleontological Teaching Laboratory
One of the geoscience teaching classrooms on the second floor of the Museum Building, has been formally named the George Sevastopulo Paleontological Teaching Laboratory. This arose in honour of the long career and service given to the Geology Department by George Sevastopulo, who passed away in 2021. A tribute to George is published at Springer Link, and an honorary special issue of the Irish Journal of Earth Sciences with George's breadth of research in mind will be published early next year. A proper dedication of the room will occur next year, and we will certainly welcome those interested.
