Adwoa Ofari

Biography

Adwoa holds a BSc. Degree in Building Technology from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana; an MSc. in Project Management from the University of Greenwich, UK and an MSc. in Water and Environmental Management from Loughborough University, UK.

Adwoa worked for a number of years in construction project management and administration before returning to academia and research work.

Research

Adwoa’s research investigates the livelihood implications of large-scale land acquisitions on adjacent communities and whether or not or how different the impacts are from those experienced by communities within the area of acquisition in the different land tenure systems in Ghana.

Her research asks the question ‘what happens after a large-scale land acquisition?’  and seeks for answers through assessing the livelihood implications of the acquisitions, distinguishing the impacts based on location of the communities and examining how they respond.
