RESEARCH INTEREST:

The history and the evolution of humankind is something that has always interested both historians and biologists. In the past years new discoveries in this area has been often hindered by the quality of the DNA in ancient samples and the cost of the sequencing technologies. More recently due to the development of new instrumentation it is possible to extract and study DNA samples with more accuracy and less cost. The focus of my project will be to use these technologies to study the history of human samples found in Europe. This work is funded by the Europen Research Council (ERC Investigator Grant).
