Post School Transitions for Students with Intellectual Disabilities
The mixed methods research study examines post-school transition pathways for students with intellectual disabilities in the Republic of Ireland. The study is intended to gather information around current (typical) transition processes with a view to highlighting best practice, gaps in guidance provision and typical post-school destinations for this cohort of students.

The project aims to support teachers in designing ethically-sound performative practice. Ethical issues are of primary concern when using arts-based activities to facilitate learning. It is a misconception to assume that all games and role-plays are always conducive to learning – more so in vulnerable contexts.

This research project is funded by the EU Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under a Marie Sklodowska-Curie grant. The lead researcher is Dr Catarina Leitão, social psychologist. Trinity College Dublin is the partner organisation for this research study through the co-supervision support of Professor Noirín Hayes of the School of Education.
