4 | Berkeley Library: The man who challenged Isaac Newton about nothing!

The great 18th-century philosopher-scientist George Berkeley (1685-1753) studied at Trinity. Among other things, he famously challenged Newton's use of 'infinitesimals' in calculus. He also championed education in the New World, and the city and University of California, Berkeley are named in his honour.
