Garda Vetting
Students on programmes with clinical or other professional placements or on programmes that will bring them into professional contact with children and/or vulnerable adults are required to undergo vetting by the Garda Síochána or other relevant police force prior to commencing placements. If, as a result of the outcome of these vetting procedures, a student is deemed unsuitable to attend clinical or other professional placements, he/she may be required to withdraw from his/her programme of study. (Calendar, §25, H6)
New entrants to programmes which require students to undergo vetting procedures will receive the relevant form and information in their orientation packs. Students must complete and return this form to the Admissions Office prior to registration.
