Deferral of Scholarship

The 2012 review of the Foundation Scholarship examinations recommends that:

11th Recommendation:  The existing definition of Scholarship notes that the examination should be at a level of evaluation appropriate to the Senior Freshman year.  With this in mind, it is recommended that from 2013/14 the Scholarship examination will be limited to candidates in their Senior Freshman year.  In exceptional circumstances (such as bereavement, serious illness), candidates may apply to the Senior Lecturer through their tutor to be allowed sit the examination in their Junior Sophister year.

To request permission to defer the Scholarship examinations from the Senior Freshman year to the Junior Sophister year, please download and complete the Deferral of Scholarship Form

Section A of this form should be completed by the student; Section B of this form should be completed by the Tutor.   Both sections should be returned to the Senior Lecturer, West Theatre, College or to student.cases@tcd.ie.

The final date to request permission to defer the 2012/13 Scholarship examinations from the Senior Freshman year to the Junior Sophister year is Friday 22 February 2013.  Please ensure that all completed and signed deferral forms have been returned to the Senior Lecturer, West Theatre, College or to student.cases@tcd.ie by this date.  Late applications will not be considered.
