The following table summarises the range of services and benefits that the Trinity Long Room Hub offers to the departments, research centres, and schools with the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at Trinity College Dublin.

Events: lectures, seminars, symposia and conferences

The Hub funds and organises some or all aspects of a substantial programme of public and scholarly events (at least 30 planned for 2009/10), including travel and accommodation, booking space and catering, AV needs, creating a pod- or vodcast, promotion and dissemination, and processing expenses and invoices.

Visiting Research Fellows

The Hub is launching a launching a programme of Visiting Research Fellowships for 2010-2011. The Hub building will have office accommodation for 9 senior scholars in single or shared offices.

Researcher Workspace: for selected postdocs, postgrads and internal sabbaticals

The new Hub building will have 45 carrel-style places in its open plan reading room.

Research funding, policy and strategy expertise

We offer a range of options – including policy briefings, individual funding ‘surgeries’, presentations targeted at specific funding opportunities, and ex officio participation on School research or executive committees

Digital Arts and Humanities structured PhD

The Digital Arts and Humanities structured PhD programme received investment of €6.8 million under the Government investment in research and innovation under the HEA Programme for Research in Third Level Institutions (PRTLI) announced in 2010.  This is a 4 year programme and we welcomed the first 46 DAH students from Ireland and around the world in October 2011.

The Hub seminar room (with 98 seats) and the Hub meeting room (with 20 seats)

Seed-corn funding for research

Over the past three years we have allocated more than €275,000 to almost 60 research projects.

 

Philanthropic fund-raising

The Hub has a fundraiser who is employed to raise money for arts and humanities research.
