Dr. Irene Mosca

Irene Mosca joined TILDA in July 2010 as a Research Fellow in Economics. She received her Master's and Doctoral Degrees in Economics from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK. Her main research areas are population and labour economics and she wrote her PhD dissertation on the impact of population ageing on the Italian labour market. She has been working on a number of papers since joining the TILDA team, focusing on: the impact of obesity on employment opportunities; socioeconomic gradient in self-reported and objective health measures; (return) migration and mental health; (return) migration and social isolation and loneliness; the impact of increasing the State Pension Age and the economic recession on retirement expectations; and patterns of "don't knows" in response to pensions-related questions. Irene has also been involved in the design of the survey for the second wave and in writing the report on the first results of TILDA.
