Dr. George Savva

George Savva is the statistician for the TILDA project.  He joined the TILDA project following six years in public health research, developing and applying statistical methodology to large surveys of health including the UK National Down's Syndrome Cytogenetic Register and the Medical Research Council Cognitive Function and Ageing Study. He completed his first degree in mathematics at the University of Cambridge followed by a Master's degree in Statistics at University College London and a PhD in bioinformatics at the University of East Anglia.  Since then his research has focused on applications of statistics in public health, particularly in the fields of mental health and healthy ageing.
