Claire O' Regan

Claire O' Regan has been working as a Health Research Fellow with TILDA since the study was launched in 2006. Having graduated and worked as a Registered General Nurse in London, she completed a B.Sc. in Psychological Sciences at the University of Westminster, London. In 2003 she completed an M.Sc. in Health Psychology at City University, London.

As a nurse she worked mainly in orthopaedic and neurological settings. Prior to returning to Ireland, she worked at Imperial College London on a longitudinal study entitled "Resilience, Health and Quality of Life in Early Old Age". Her primary research interest is in the epidemiology of mental illness in older adults, particularly depression and anxiety.  She is currently investigating the association between neuro-cardiovascular instability (specifically orthostatic hypotension) and depression and is due to complete her Ph.D. entitled "Depression and Neuro-cardiovascular Instability in Older Adults" early next year.
