Barbara Bradby

Barbara Bradby is Associate Professor in Sociology. Her work combines approaches from sociology, anthropology, social history and cultural studies. She has worked in Latin America most recently on practices of childbirth in contemporary Bolivia, and on the health system in Cuba. She also works on women and popular music,with a particular interest in gender and popular song. She has supervised PhD theses on topics to do with women, reproductive health, sexual citizenship, popular music and new technology, and popular music and migration in contemporary Ireland.
