Programme Coordinator - Lorna Carson carsonle@tcd.ie
Lorna Carson is Assistant Professor in Applied Linguistics in the School of Linguistic, Speech and Communication Sciences. She coordinates the CLCS evening language modules and the university's English language support modules for international postgraduate students.
English - Brian Conry conryb@tcd.ie
Brian Conry teaches English for Academic Purposes, and is an instructor for the pre-sessional and in-sessional English language modules at CLCS. Having taught English and communication for twelve years in Korea and Japan, he returned to Ireland to take his M.Phil. in Applied Linguistics in 2007.
French - Jean Martin Deniau jmdeniau@tcd.ie
Jean Martin Deniau, originally from France, has extensive experience as a French language instructor at third level. He has also worked in literary translation studies.
Korean - Do Eun Jee doeu@tcd.ie
Do Eun Jee teaches Korean language modules at TCD. She previously worked as an intern for the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, developing TCD’s Korean language programme, and is the organizer of the Dublin Korean Cultural Meet-Up Group. She was appointed as a visiting academic to TCD in 2010.
Irish - Colin Flynn cjflynn@tcd.ie
Colin Flynn (Cóilín Ó Floinn), Irish language instructor, is also a doctoral research student in the School of Linguistic, Speech and Communication Sciences. He holds an M.Phil. in Applied Linguistics (TCD) and an H.Dip. in Education (UCD). Colin has taught Irish at a number of third level institutions and private language schools throughout Ireland and he has extensive experience in designing syllabuses and course materials for adult Irish language learners at all levels.
Japanese - Keiko Inoue inouek@tcd.ie
Keiko Inoue teaches Japanese. Originally from Tokyo, Keiko is an active member of the Japanese Language Teachers of Ireland (JLTI), and holds a Ph.D. in Modern Irish History.
Spanish - Rosa Ana Lozano rosaana.lozano@tcd.ie
Rosa Ana Lozano, originally from Spain, is a Spanish language instructor. She has a degree in English Philology and a higher diploma in teaching, as well as a diploma in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language from the Instituto Cervantes. As well as teaching, she worked for many years as a senior project manager in the software translation
industry.
English - Deirdre Murphy murphyd3@tcd.ie
Deirdre (Dee) Murphy teaches English for Academic Purposes, and has been teaching English to adult learners in Ireland for six years. She recently completed her Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics, and is interested in the research of all aspects of English language teaching and learning, and pronunciation in particular.
German - Maria Rieder riederm@tcd.ie
Maria Rieder, German language instructor, is also a doctoral research student in the School of Linguistic, Speech and Communication Sciences. She has a German postgraduate degree in secondary school teaching (German, English, Spanish, History) and has several years of experience in teaching second and third level students.
French and Italian - Florence Signorini fsgnorni@tcd.ie
Florence Signorini has extensive experience as a language teacher and linguistics lecturer at third level. She currently teaches French and Italian, and has a background in syntax.
German - Annedore Speßhardt
Annedore Speßhardt, originally from Germany, is an experienced language instructor. She also sits on the committee of the German Teachers’ Association of Ireland (Gesellschaft der Deutschlehrer Irlands) where she is the Bulletin Editor.
Turkish - Alev Yilmaz durmaza@tcd.ie
Alev Yilmaz, Turkish language instructor, is also a doctoral research student in the School of Linguistic, Speech and Communication Sciences. She has a background in curriculum design. She holds a B.A. from Middle East Technical University in Ankara and M.A. from Yildiz Technical University in Istanbul. She worked for Ministry of Education in Turkey for eight years. She was appointed to TCD as a visiting academic in 2009.
