Elaine Uí Dhonnchadha
Assistant Professor in Computational Linguistics
Research Interests
My main areas of interest are Corpus Linguistics and Natural Language Processing. I am interested all aspects of corpus creation and the linguistic annotation of corpora, and in developing language processing tools for Irish for the automatic annotation of texts, e.g. morphological analysers and generators, part-of-speech taggers, chunkers and parsers. Tools such as these are used by many language technology applications including search engines, spelling and grammar checkers, computer-aided translation systems, speech synthesis and recognition, and others.
