Research Interests
My research interests are firmly rooted in the fields of Second Language Acquisition and Second Language Education. Within these fields, my research has included language cognition, motivation and self-regulation of the language learning task, bilingual education curriculum management, and more recently Global Englishes pertaining to language education.

Teaching/Supervision
I teach on a number of courses at Trinity College including the MPhil (Applied Linguistics), the MPhil (English Language Teaching), and the undergraduate program. I also have 15 years of language teaching and curriculum management experience in a wide variety of contexts, from ESL and Japanese language education in elementary schools in Australia, to helping establish an innovative bilingual Bachelor of Business and Master of International Business program at Rikkyo University in Japan.
