Nominations for the University of Dublin Seanad Elections 2016
The nomination process in the constituency of Trinity College Dublin, the University of Dublin for the forthcoming election to Seanad Éireann closed at 1 pm today (March 3, 2016). The Deputy Returning Officer has declared the following 16 candidates as standing for election within the Dublin University constituency as follows:

Information for Candidates
What happens next?
- Candidates will need to obtain a nomination form called EU 1 from Academic Registry in the Watts Building, Trinity College Dublin or online at https://www.tcd.ie/academicregistry/seanad/candidateinformation
- Each potential candidate needs to submit a completed EU1 form with the signatures of a proposer, seconder, and eight assenters, who are registered electors in the 2015 DU Seanad Electoral Register
- Candidates can supply a passport-style picture of themselves (in jpeg format on a CD and two printed copies) to be used on the ballot paper
- Ballot papers will be sent out by registered post on March 21
- Candidates are entitled to buy a copy of the electoral register and may send one free postage letter to voters.
- Candidates are required to have their final artwork with An Post for preapproval not later than Friday 4th March 2016.
- An Post advises candidates to have their material with the assigned printers for personalisation not later than Wednesday 9th March to ensure deliveries before polling day 21st March.
- Candidates will be able to submit a video and manifesto which will be loaded up to the Seanad 2016 website
- Candidates and voters will be invited to a “meet the candidates” event in Trinity shortly after the ballot papers are sent out.
- The deadline for return of ballots is April 26 at 11am
