Research Expertise

Projects

  • Title
    • Insular Christianity 1530-1750
  • Summary
    • This innovative three-year project will support the editing of important texts in Irish religious history; I will be one of the editors of a new edition of the foundation text of Irish Presbyterian historiography, Patrick Adair's True narrative. A more distinctive aspect involves bringing together scholars from a range of disciplines, and with expertise in the history one or more of the insular nations, to collaborate through mutual criticism of pre-circulated papers, and meetings in a series of symposia. A volume of studies will be produced on each of our three themes: Catholicism and Presbyterianism compared; Celtic Christianity; the impact of the English Bible.
