Loyola Institute
The Loyola Institute will offer a new BA Moderatorship in Catholic Theological Studies from Michaelmas term 2013. It is designed to provide students with knowledge of the Catholic theological, intellectual and cultural tradition and the critical issues that arise in the study of its origins, formative periods, and foundational documents. Students will acquire the skills and explore ethical understandings relevant for current debates about the place of the Catholic intellectual tradition in a globalised world, including ecumenical dimensions of contemporary Catholic theology as it engages with other Christian traditions and other religious traditions of the world. The advent of the Loyola Institute in the Confederal School of Religions, Theology and Ecumenics increases significantly the spectrum of Theological Studies being provided in Trinity College in a context of diversity unrivalled anywhere in Ireland.
