Registrar of Chambers: Dr Tim Trimble

The Registrar of Chambers, acting on behalf of the Provost, allocates residential accommodation on campus and is a statutory officer of the College [Statutes XII.12 (c)].

The Registrar of Chambers is responsible for the approval of the

  • Re-assignment of the license to reside in College Rooms;
  • Revocation of the above license (on behalf of the Provost);
  • Issuing of four weeks notice to quit College residences due to overdue accounts and the review of 'special circumstances' with respect to the payment of accounts.

In addition, the Registrar of Chambers may

  • Provide written permission to residents for overnight guests to stay longer than 4 nights;
  • Give approval for parties in College residences;
  • Prohibit individual residents from hosting overnight guests;
  • Restrict the facility for hosting overnight guests in College.

The Registrar of Chambers and his assistants provide communication regarding matters of pastoral care, discipline and inter-resident relations. As the Registrar of Chambers is also the Junior Dean, he and his assistants are responsible for student discipline among residents.

Note: The application process for a room on campus in the next academic year opens on Monday 7th February 2011 and closes on Friday 4th March 2011 at 5pm.
