Students' Union (SU) and Graduate Students' Union (GSU)
Every student at Trinity College is automatically a member of the Students' Union or the Graduate Students' Union. If you want to get involved in the Union, run for class rep during the first couple of weeks in College.
The Students’ Union, whose Officers are elected by the whole student body, represents student interests and provides a range of student services. In House 6 in Front Square you will find the Students' Union offices, a shop, a travelcard office and bookshop. House 6 also houses the offices of the 5 elected sabbatical officers where you can avail of a confidential welfare service and confidential academic advice service. There is also a Students' Union shop at the entrance to the Hamilton Building and the Union's JCR Cafe in Goldsmith Hall.
The Graduate Students' Unionis the sole representative body of postgraduate students in Trinity. The GSU provides advice on academic and welfare issues faced by postgrads, and offers three main facilities: dedicated postgrad study space in the 1937 Reading Room, the GSU Common Room on the first floor of House 7, (open daily from 8am to 7pm Monday to Friday) and the GSU office in Room 28, House 6. Keys can be purchased at the Student's Union Office on the ground floor.
