College chaplaincy

There are four college chaplains who represent four of the main Christian traditions in Ireland. They work closely together and function as an ecumenical chaplaincy. They are available to assist students and staff with many of the different matters that arise in college, and most significantly in spiritual and pastoral care. The chaplaincy is located in House 27 and is a place of welcome and friendship, where many students simply 'hang out' and enjoy the free tea and coffee available in the common area. Don't let it pass you by that there is a free student lunch from 12.30pm-2pm every Tuesday in the common area.

The chaplains are responsible for the magnificent Chapel building in Front Square. Every denomination shares this sacred space and regular services are held during semester. The joint ecumenical services are a highlight of the college year-so make sure you get them in your diary eg: the annual college carol service. A variety of events and trips are organised by the chaplains- around Ireland and overseas. Taize, Palestine, South Africa - Belfast, Newry and Nenagh have all been visited over the last few years!

The chaplaincy exists to help students of all faiths and none, and they are happy to lend a hand to anyone needing help with spiritual guidance, faith development or pastoral support. They are also more than happy to direct students looking for links to their own denominations or faith. A Muslim prayer room is also available on campus. Details of the chaplains can be found on the Chaplaincy website.
