Additional information for International Students
Within a month after arriving in Ireland, non-EU/EEA international students must register with the Gardai National Immigration Bureau (GNIB). To do so, you will have to provide certain documents, details of which can be found here. In order to register with the GNIB, non-EU international students must now provide proof of Health Insurance, information about which can be found here.
2. You will have to apply for a re-entry visa into Ireland from IRELAND. This may be a complicated process and will take time, approximately 6-8 weeks. Please check the necessary information and start the application process shortly after you arrive in Ireland.
Full-Degree Undergraduates (first year and advanced entry): There will be a special orientation session including GNIB registration details on Thursday, 22 September 16:30-18:00 (4.30-6pm) in the Ed Burke Theatre.
Visiting/Exchange Students: GNIB information will be provided during General Orientation on Monday, 21 September.
The GNIB is located at Burgh Quay, near Trinity College.
Students whose first language is not English may be interested in taking an English for Academic Purposes Course.
