In the first three years of the TSM course you can develop your knowledge and
understanding of Islamic, Jewish and Near Eastern cultures in a variety of contexts from the perspective of social, cultural and intellectual history. At the core of your activities is critical engagement with the primary texts and material culture as well as key contemporary intellectual and communal issues. For those students who choose a language option, engaging with the sources in their original languages offers you the opportunity to develop skills to bring to your career or prepare you for further study.
