Bits & Pieces

During the course of this project it became clear that not everything that makes up a persons story can be reduced to a narrative- not everything fits into a 'story'.

There are some things that our storytellers wished to share that did not fit neatly into another category. These elements will be available on this page.

Maureens Boxty Recipe.

Boxty is a traditional irish dish made from potatoes, water and flour. Most families in rural Ireland in the 20th Century would have had their own family recipe, passed down from generation to generation, usually through the women of the family.

One of the storytellers, Maureen, was passed down her family recipe by her mother, who died in her 40's. Maureen was very keen to have this recipe passed on, that it would not die with her. You can find her family recipe by clicking on this link.
