Research Summary

Steve Finn is a Consultant Pathologist at St. James’s Hospital, where he co-directs the Cancer Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory (CMD). CMD is the only fully accredited molecular diagnostic laboratory for cancer in Ireland. Dr. FInn’s clinical expertise is primarily in urological and molecular pathology. He is a former Senior Scientist and Staff Pathologist to the Centre for Molecular Oncologic Pathology at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, USA. Dr. Finn’s research interests are primarily focused on prostate cancer, particularly non-coding RNA repertoires and stem cell models of aggressive Prostate cancer, predictive biomarkers and the patho-epidemiology of prostate cancer. Dr. Finn is a founding member of the Transdisciplinary Prostate Cancer Partnership (TOPCAP www.topcapteam.org) and a member of the Prostate Cancer Research Consortium (PCRC) and Australian-Canadian Prostate Cancer Research Alliance.  Dr. Finn is a current recipient of the Prostate Cancer Foundation Young investigator Award (Figure 1: Outline).
