    • Irish Molecular Genetics Study in Autism
  • Summary
    • Investigating the genetic cases of autism to help clarify the totality of genetic causes that ultimately will lead to better diagnostics and therapeutics. The project includes clinical recruitment and using samples of DNA obtained from individuals affected by autism and their family members to study genetic factors. Investigation involves studying both the underlying genetic changes combining molecular, clinical and endophenotypic data, such as cognitive measures and neuroimaging data to further our understanding of the interactions between genes, biology and behavior.

  • Summary
    • The project focuses on pediatric conduct disorder (CD) in females during late childhood and adolescence. It aims at studying the phenotypic subgroups, their underlying neurobiological and neurocognitive mechanisms leading to pathological aggression in females compared to males, longitudinal course of CD in females from pre-puberty to puberty, and to apply a new psychotherapeutic approach in adolescent females within a randomized controlled trial.
