Health and Safety
The School of Medicine is committed to providing an environment that is safe, healthy and friendly for all its employees, students, visitors and contractors. The policy of the School in relation to Health and Safety is set out in School Safety Statement, which is subject to ongoing review and development.
The buildings and facilities of the School of Medicine are situated in diverse areas including the Trinity Biomedical Sciences Building (TBSI) on Pearse Street and several other buildings on the Main TCD campus; the Trinity Centre for Health Sciences and other facilities on the St James Hospital Campus and the Trinity Centre in the AMNCH (Tallaght hospital) site.
The School undertakes both teaching and research within each of these facilities. Health and Safety Committees are established within the Trinity Biomedical Sciences Institute and the Trinity Centre for Health Sciences in St James Hospital, to coordinate matters concerning health and safety within the different disciplines housed in these buildings.
Local Safety Officers are appointed to individual facilities and to each of the disciplines on the TCD campus, in SJH and in AMNCH
