Biography

Dr. Shuo Yin received his Ph.D from Dalian University of Technology (China) in 2012. His PhD research was focusing on experimental and numerical investigation of cold sprayed metal deposits. During his doctoral study period, he also spent two years at Kingston University in UK as a joint-training doctoral student. From 2013 to 2015, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at University of Technology of Belfort-Montebiard in France and Wageningen University in the Netherland. He then moved to Dublin and was appointed a research fellow at the Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering in Trinity College Dublin. In 2017, he was awarded a prestigious Research Fellowship sponsored by IRC (Irish Research Council). His current research interests are mainly focusing on various additive manufacturing processes, including cold spraying and selective laser melting.
