Description

The enhancement of heat transfer resulting from bubble motion along a heated surface is being investigated experimentally utilising Liquid Crystal Thermography coupled with high speed photography. As the bubble slides along the downward-facing inclined surface, the turbulence within the wake of the bubble has a profound influence on the heat transfer coefficient. This investigation aims to quantify the level of enhancement both experimentally and numerically.
