Description

Heat Pipes (HP) are efficient, low cost and simple phase change heat transfer devices. Recently they have been implemented in many commercial applications to transfer heat from a centralized source and disperse it for cooling and heating applications alike. In addition to the advantages of the HP, the Variable Conductance Heat Pipe (VCHP) incorporates a non-condensable gas into the pipe to control the amount of heat that can be transferred through it or to control the temperature of the heat source.
