Dr Arup Kumar Das, IIT Roorkee will give a seminar on

Numerical Modelling of Well-Dispersed Multiphase Flow and Complex Interfaces

Tuesday 17 December 2013, 12:00, Parsons Building (Crossland Lecture Theatre)

Dr Arup Kumar Das is Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, with research interests in numerical modelling of two-phase flow, microfluidics, bubble and droplet dynamics. He has authored more than 25 publications in high impact journals such as Langmuir, Applied Thermal Engineering, International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer.

Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations of two-phase flow remains a very challenging area. In this seminar, Dr Das will present an overview of his past and current research activities, and focus on his recent numerical work on dispersed and separated two phase flow.

Arup will be working as visiting research professor in the Fluids & Heat Transfer group in December 2013. Please contact Tim Persoons for more information.
