Wrote to poor Roughley’s widow and to other fellows’ people

29 September 1916

In town again – went in by tram in the afternoon and went to see Carter and the men in Tigne. Wired to Mc Grigor to telegraph me £5 as I am reduced to 7/-. Came out again by tram.
Wrote to poor Roughley’s widow and to other fellows’ people where they could not write themselves.
These trams here fairly tear along – no sign of a speed limit unless perhaps it is 60 miles an hour.
