My dearest. No letter at all from you this evening and funnily enough three others one from Paw containing another from an Axe man in Canada and another from James Stephens. The one from Canada was like a breath from a long gone past. The man Scottie Hamilton as I remember him now appears to want to pay me some 300 dollars. It was some rather complicated investment I remember over a house-property and I had forgotten it. I remember now thinking that I had got as much out of it as was likely to come my way.
