One of the men of the Brigade found strangled in the lines

16th November [1915]

A cold morning developed into a very hot day. Snow much more plentiful on the mountains beyond the River Vardar. Quiet day, with ordinary parades. All of us assembled and new camp boundaries read out and Field General Courts Martial promised as reward of disobedience. These damned Greeks seem to be cutting up rough. It is true they fired on our staff and Colonels yesterday. Would rather a little blood letting at their expense! Cross in Salonika today. Salonika today put out of bounds except for warrant officers and above. Two men went in yesterday from this Regt and have disappeared. The Kings Own officers servant went into the big village behind us on Sunday and has not been heard of. One of the men of the Brigade found strangled in the lines a few days ago. Hence my love for the Greeks.
New rumour that we are going up country to the frontier in 4 days. Trust we are.
Later definite information that we move up country to Mogador where the 10th Division is tomorrow night or Thursday morning.
